Nothing Under The Bed

Asleep was he sleep, asleep
In a sleep very deep
When he awoke to a creak
First the sound was very weak
But it grew stronger
And it sounded longer
He sat up and then the noise stopped
Again into sleep he dropped
But soon again he awoke to a noise
He sat up with poise
And then the noise stopped
Again he slept but the noise persisted
Until now he had resisted
The temptation to find this sound
He stepped form his bed onto the ground
Flipped the switch to the light
But still the room was dark in night
He could see the lamp
But still the dark did clamp
Around the light which beams
Could not break through the seams
Of the cold dark night
He dropped to the ground in fright
Then under the bed he saw a hole
And yet it wasnt a hole
It was a gap there was nothing there
It was a space where there was a tear
It was sucking in all around
And as it did it made a sound
Slowly it took in all that was near
It struck in him much fear
Its nothingness creeped nearer
And its nothingness became clearer
It came almost to its toes
Were it came form or didnt he not knows
The black void trickled up his shoe ties
When at last he realized
That away he should go
If he did not want to be eaten by the dark throe
He struggled to move back
But the nothing kept on its attack
He could not break free
From this thing he could not see
Soon he was gone, no longer there
He no longer has a care..............Because there was nothing under his bed!
