Read Read Read!
Read anything and everything related to plastic surgery . . . get books, read magazine articles . . . surf on the net . . . but never go in for a consultation without doing your homework FIRST!
Get as many consultations from as many doctors as possible! My personal opinion is to speak to at least 3 different doctors before commiting to one of them . . . and it is a commitment - a BIG ONE!
Communication is ESSENTIAL between you and your surgeon. If you have questions ASK!
Don't go with the surgeon that promises you "the sun, moon and stars" . . . be REALISTIC in your expectations, both short and long-term! |

THIS WAS PRETTY MUCH HOW I LIVED FOR THE WEEK AFTER SURGERY! Note the massive amounts of pillows to support me, the small cooler on the bed and the larger cooler by the bed. I'm keeping an ice pack on my boobs and if you look carefully you can see my surgical drain ,that red cord comming out of my pants (that's not the color of the drain itself -THAT'S MY BLOOD Y'ALL!!!) click on pic to enlarge |

Once I began to heal I realized that my torso wasn't the only thing that needed a re-do. I had my hair straightened, switched back to contacts and started wearing makeup again. Not to mention, I've dropped another 30 lbs since surgery and plan on losing at least another 10-20 in 2006 (a recent foot injury had me sidetracked in 2005).
I'm totally pleased so far . . . but the saga continues. |
