Harry Ten Shillings Restaurant & Cafe |

| Despite its outward appearance (which will hopefully soon be replaced with a more recent photograph) our lunch at Harry Ten Shillings Restaurant & Cafe in Shakespeare Canada was a delightful experience. The town of Shakespeare was not always called that. It was formerly called Bell Corners, however, the name was later changed to Shakespeare. This was because the Shakespeare lived in Stratford in Europe and since Bell Corners was right next to Stratford Canada, it was renamed as a way to honor Shakespeare and also as an inside joke for those with knowledge about his life. The town contained many antique and specialty shops, which the students explored after thier lunch. The owners Chanticleer Antique shop were particularly nice and answered the students questions about the history of the town. One of the best features of the town was that the majority of the buildings had an antique look to them as well, which made one feel as though they had gone back to a simpler time. While everyone was able to looking into quite a few shops, there were also a great deal that they did not have the time to explore. If you would like to see the other businesses in Shakespeare or would like more information about the history or featured events, please click here. |
