| After the delicious dinner at Bentley's, it was time to journey over to The Festival Theatre, which was one of the four theatres which participate in The Stratford Festival of Canada. |

| The Friday evening performance was a great Shakespearian classic, Romeo and Juliet. The stage had a very simple, yet effective layout, which can be seen on The Festival Theatre webpage. This design made it easy to see the entire performance since the scenery never blocked the actors. The costumes appeared to be typical of Shakespearian plays, with the women in long flowing dresses and then men in tights and jackets. The Montague and Capulet families were each clothed in distinct colors so that members of the audience could follow which characters belonged to each of the feuding families. Though I do no consider myself an expert of any kind on Romeo and Juliet, I have seen various portrayals of the play and it was the version I saw in Stratford that I enjoyed the most. Throughout high school and even in college, this play has been described as a "tradegy", however, I often found myself and others around me laughing. The biggest difference between this version and ones I had seen in the past is that the actors portrayed each scene and each line as its on entity and did not attempt to make every sentence reflect the overlying theme of tradegy. I believe that this made the play more realistic as well as more enjoyable. Other students on the trip also found the play to be quite enjoyable and after seeing Richard III, most agreed that they found Romeo and Juliet to be the best play of the weekend. Some of the highlights for the rest of the group was the costumes, the humor and the realistic acting.
