| After checking into the hotel around 12:30 A.M. and getting some sorely needed sleep, the students were ready for more exploring and more food. To satisfy both needs, they took a walk over to the Kitchener Farmers' Market which was a block away from their hotel underneath a shopping mall. At first glace, it appeared that the market was all outdoors and had nothing to offer but produce, but after a little searching, the students discovered the inside portion, which contained foods other than fruits and veggies. Inside, there was quite an array of breads, meats, baked goods and people. Many of the vendors appeared to be high school or college age, which seemed rather strange since many of the American farmers' markets I have been to typically have more eldery clerks. In additon to the younger demographic of workers, there we also a large number foreign merchants as well. Many of them sold specalities from their country, which were mostly either meat or baked goods. A few brave students purchased their breakfast at the market, however, most opted to venture upstairs to the mall where there was a McDonald's where they enjoyed a traditional American breakfast of grease and soda. |

| While the only places we experienced in Kitchener were the hotel and the Farmers' Market, the city boasts numerous other events and activites that we unfortunately did not have enough time to explore. For more information about Kitchener, please click here. | ||||||||||
