Other Neo-Medieval Bands

The following are links to the websites of various other Neo-Medieval bands, both from Germany and elsewhere. If you have any suggestions for other bands to add to the list, please email me at [email protected] !

Cultus Ferox- Neo-Medieval band featuring Brandan and Donar von Avignon, ex-members of Corvus Corax.
Schandmaul- Medieval-folk-rock band, blends medieval and folk instruments (such as bagpipes, fiddles etc.) with hard-rock.
In Extremo- A blend of hard rock and medieval sounds, In Extremo performs original songs as well as interpretations of medieval songs/music from Germany, France, Spain and many other countries. Site is available in English.
The Inchtabokatables- Not technically medieval (although they have performed versions of Poc Vecem and Palastinalied), more or less a folk-rock band (which is sadly no longer together.) Lead singer/violinist Robert Beckmann was a member Tippelklimper/Zumpfkopule and performed in the early days along with Castus, Wim etc.
Mediaeval Baebes- Ensemble of 8 female vocalists from Great Britain, who perform/interpret Medieval and Renaissance pieces. Also sang guest backing-vocals on Tanzwut's "Auferstehung" (from their self-titled cd.)

Other Sites of Interest

The following are links to other websites that may be of interest to you. The first grouping relates to either the Middle Ages or Corvus Corax, and the second grouping are various webpages that I myself frequent, but are of no relation to the band or their genre of music.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire- Held yearly from August through October in Manheim, PA at the Mount Hope Winery. One of the largest in the tri-state area, this year they will be featuring none other than Corvus Corax in their line-up of performers!
Noir Records- The label to which Corvus Corax are signed here in the United States. "The Best of Corvus Corax" is their first American release through Noir.
Dancing Ferret- Home of Noir Records and host of the yearly event "Dracula's Ball" among other things. Has an excellent selection of imported cds available through their mail order department. I highly reccommend a visit!
Musici Monacensis- A Munich based (high) medieval reenactment group. Under "Tipps: Musik" they feature some wonderful information about medieval instruments, as well as some musical notation for a number of medieval songs (even some of the ones covered by Corvus Corax!) Brilliant site, although unfortunate for some, it is in German only.
Old High German Page- A nice selection of texts in old High German! Also has a section dedicated to Middle High German texts (with a number of Minnesanger pieces) and a section for Old English.
The Francois Villon Society- Society for the vagabond poet-extraordinaire. Includes an exhaustive bibliography, featuring links to some of his works available online.

My Other Websites

The following are other websites I either own or operate. Currently I only operate one other site, but I shall leave this section open for future additions.

Consume! (aka Portfolio)- My portfolio site (which I created myself for my Web Design final.) Right now it features only my Photographic work (Digital and 35mm) but in the future it will showcase my Graphic Design work, as well as some traditional art and possibly some of my film work too. You can also find an "About Me" section there.
