From the time Charlie could walk he showed an interest in sports. He started collecting sports cards, it did not matter what sport it was just as long as it was a sports card. He would set for hours and study each card. And he would hand every one in the house a stack of cards and he wanted us to show him the picture on the card and then he could tell us every thing about the person featured on the card. It really surprised everyone that he had mastered these cards. And we are not talking about 30 or 40 cards. His collection of cards ranged some where between 1 and 2 thousand. He stored them in an old TV box.

As he started to stretch out his long legs had a tendency to move really fast. And those arms where made to throw things.  I can not count the number of times he picked up rocks and throw them at me and never missed, and by the time I got to where he was standing when he threw the rocks he was already in the house standing by mom, smiling cause he knew I could not get to him.

When he reached the age of 8 he started playing baseball. He played for several years on Little League. Then he decided it was time to try something else, so he played Pop Warner football for a season and decided it was not for him. He did not like to be roughed up. After a while he started running track. He could not wait till he reached
High School so he could run.
