Esther-abilia
.
Esther is a unique name with a special place in history and literature.  I get a kick out of what I call "Esther-abilia", so I thought I'd share some of my finds with you here.  If you have more, please send me pictures!!

Any way you spell it, this guy's got taste!  With the name of someone special on his heart, this tough guy is William Huezo, a Salvadorian volunteer  working against gang violence.  (This scan spares you the pierced nipple....)

The hard-to-read title on this ad reads:
2001 International Year of Volunteers

.

popular and plentiful today.

Look!  I have my own doll!
Madame Alexander Bible Doll:
       Queen Esther  (8" tall)
I don't know what cigarette silks are
(or were?), but here's a deco silk for Zira cigarettes entitled
"Esther, Yiddish Queen 200 B.C."
My doll has a choice of wardrobe.....    of course!

.
And then there's Action Figure Esther! LOL!
1980s Mego Bible Greats 8 inch ESTHER action figure. According to the auction listing, this figure is "a dead-on Mego knock-off like the Lion Rock figures and is highly sought after by Mego and Ahi collectors."       Who knew??
An unissued $20,000 capital stock certificate
in the Queen Esther Amusement Company.

(awfully close to my maiden initials!)

...
