The
first successes of the Blitzkrieg, the offensive lightning German,
drove to the Soviets to leaving the production of light tanks,
manifestly low before the German Panzer. The solution was to
combine T-70 with cannons that had
demonstrated already its efficiency, like them ZIS-3 and ZIS-76.
The aim was to obtain a
weapon anti-tank with mobility. Nevertheless, the problem there
was the bad life conditions into of the tank, which were doing
that were named "the fox". At the end of 1942 there
appeared the first SU-76, its construction being accelerated.
Nevertheless, the improvements got in the shielding of the German
tanks reduced the advantages of the cannon ZIS, for what SU-76
had should to be re-used for a different work, like the support
to the infantry. Again gave a mission from 1945, when it began
to be used to transport ammunition.
