It was based on the chassis of the Pz II, which had remained obsolete. One proceeded to support the chassis and to incorporate a cannon of 75 mm instead of the original turret. This increase its power of fire but increase its weakness as for shielding too, besides it was a vehicle too much high and difficult to hide.
