| "History.... History.... History... Stop askin' me his!" -*NSYNC, *N The Mix *Nsync started way back in 1995 when Christopher Kirkpatrick had an idea to start a music group. He took his idea to Justin Timberlake, who he knew from a couple auditions. Justin was so excited that he called up his former mouseketeer friend Joshaua Chasez or �JC�. A few days later the 3 boys went out to celebrate. That�s when they ran into Joseph Fatone Jr. or �Joey." Joey, at the time worked at Universal Studios, but that didn�t stop him from joining the group. Joey had the lowest voice of the four boys and yet it wasn�t low enough for the round sound they were searching for. That�s when Justin got a hold of his old vocal coach and asked him for some help. His vocal coach reccomended James Lance "Lansten" Bass. They liked Lance�s style and flew him out to Orlando and added him to the group as the final fifth member of *Nsync. All that was left to do was to think of a name. One night Justin�s mom was messing around with the boy�s names and came up with *N Sync! How, you ask? Well, she took the last letter of boy�s first names and put them together: JustiN, ChriS, JoeY , LansteN, JC!! The star was added to equalize them , for they all own one point on the star (this came later, however. For their Europena debut, the CD cover had " 'NSync." When *NSYNC debuted in America, the star was added. to replace the apostrophe.) Then they started to rehearse in an empty warehouse that was down the street from where Justin, Chris, JC, and Justin's mom�s house was. That's when their first gig finally came. It was in Orlando at Walt Disney World's Pleasure Island, which was filmed by a former MMC cameraman, in October of 1995. That video is what made them where they are today. The video was sent to different record companies until one was able to allow these fine boys to make their dreams come true. From that gig on, Justin, Chris, Joey, Lance and JC have made girls and boys happy all over the globe!! |
