| SPLASH! Form does indeed follow function as seen in these excerpts from newsletters I've designed for VoiceStream Wireless. A good branded piece, in my opinion, is clear first and pretty second. It doesn't matter how "cool" or "hip" or "dull" one may want the piece to be if it doesn't meet the needs of the intended audience. What is the purpose of this piece? Can the reader wade through complex imagery to find the meat of the information? Is the piece getting too "artsy"...or too conservative? These are questions I enjoy asking...and then I go to work. |
