Meet the Residents

If you have any doubt about the incredible good done by the Estancia, come and meet some of the residents and hear their stories.  Shown above is Silvina Garcia Altamirano with her son, Gustavo.  Silvina is recovering from leukemia.  She has been at the Estancia for three months and her health is improving.

From left to right: Mary Ann Garrett, Ivon (resident), Jane Robison, Lupita Salinas Gomez, Nora Jacquez, Silvina and her son, Gustavo (residents).

Estancia Factoid

St. Joseph's Church in Marion, Iowa, has been supporting Estancia Fraternidad for many years.  Under the direction of Robert Buckley, they have painted the facade of the building and bought ambulances.  Currently church members are donating $1,500US to Estancia.  We salute them!

Soroptimist Club of Oaxaca Recognize Founders

The Soroptimist Club of Oaxaca is honoring the founders of Estancia, Sr. Roberto Cruz Pasten (post-humously) and Sr. Bivaldo Ramos Martínez at their March 17th meeting at Hacienda La Nora on the Perferico.

What's Cooking?

Shown above is a mountain of tortillas donated after a recent social event.  The tortillas will be dried and used in dishes prepared by the Estancia cook.  Nothing is wasted at Estancia.  Residents receive three meals a day, primarily beans, rice, and tortillas with meat infrequently during the week.
