Modeled the database of the business (shoe retail sales) according to the entity relationship model and normalized the data tables to 3rd. normal form. Established a stock-keeping-unit inventory control system to facilitate database setup. Implemented the database originally in
FoxPro in Macintosh computers, and ultimately migrated to PostgreSQL in Intel-Linux computers. Developed data entry programs for point-of-sale, accounting, financial, purchasing, and inventory operations. Developed data analysis programs for sales performance and forecasting, customer purchasing power and patterns, and inventory re-stocking and clearance reports. Developed application program interfaces using embedded SQL in C (ECPG), Perl, Python, Tcl/TK, and Java (JDBC). Developed graphical user interfaces using GTK+/GNOME and Glade.
