| With this website there are several things you can do. Have students choose an employment field which interests them. Have them search for jobs that they would be interested in hypothetically applying for. The teacher could select a geographic region if the students aren't able to. What qualifications and experience are necessary for the job? How could someone get the proper qualifications and experience? What interested the students about that particular job or career field? Have students discuss their findings. Monster.com also has a section on resume writing and tips. Students can browse through that section of the website to help them put together a solid resume and cover letter. Ask them what they found that they didn't know before. Which aspects of Western resumes are different from those of their host country (ie. no pictures or date of birth)? Good luck! |
