«Overall, ESPN NHL Hockey is shaping up amazingly well. The game is extremely polished in terms of both presentation and gameplay, and, simply put, it's a whole lot of fun to play. Any fan of the Sega Sports NHL franchise should be looking forward to what ESPN NHL Hockey will have to offer this September.» |

«Overall, the scouting report shows that ESPN will probably
be the top pick this season. It may not have as many whiz-bang new
features as NHL 2004, but the graphics got a solid facelift, and the
action feels comfortable and well-tuned.

«Upon first glance, ESPN NHL Hockey appears to play much the
same as last year's game, retaining the same overall style and
functionality. More than anything else, the gameplay appears to have
been tweaked ever so slightly to affect the few problem areas seen
last year. The biggest gameplay tweak is clearly in the goalie AI,
which, while still very tough, has been adjusted to make scoring much
more realistic. Gone are the days of having to play multiple
triple-overtime games in a row.» |

development at Kush Games and will retain all of the solid gameplay
that 2K3 had to offer, with a few general tweaks and improvements
along with all-new visual and audio presentations.» |

«Basically, if you loved last year's game, NHL 2K4 shouldn't
disappoint. More scoring and more fights equal more fun in my book.
The only thing you can't do is drive the Zamboni. » |

«The bottom line here is that its more of the same, only
better. If Kush can keep the gameplay the same and just improve the
presentation, the game is a must-buy. The motto of NHL 2K4 is true
to the NHL, some lofty goals indeed. Only time will tell if their
efforts to tweak 2K3 up to the next level will succeed. » |
