This is a speech written and spoken by myself, it concerns
Men and Women of our most glorious Nation! I stand before you today, on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves, those who have been cruelly treated, held captive, slaughtered mercilessly and unjustly subjugated while we stood by and watched!
My friends, I stand before you today to fight for them, to free them from their oppression and break the cruel chains of captivity which hold them unwillingly! Men of my most exalted country, my most excellent human race, my most loyal friends, we can no longer stand by disregarding and watch them suffering needlessly. We can act, we must act, it is our moral duty to do so. We MUST help those, who suffer mercilessly every day of their miserable existence. I am addressing you, my friends on behalf of the animals!
I ask you my friends, to aid me in my continuing struggle against those who would keep animals in captivity, breeding them against their nature for the sole purpose of larger stock which in turn will suffer the same implacable fate, who would confine them to cages when they yearn in vain to run free on the open land, and who would slaughter them in cold blood for food, much of which rots uneaten while so many starve.
The world is very different now, than what it was when God gave Adam dominion over beasts or when man evolved above other beasts for survival. I admit, the first men ate meat, but did they capture animals and enclose them in small cages? Did they breed them so their offspring would produce more meat? Did they slaughter them in cold blood with the animals having no chance of survival?
No.
These are things we do today, degrading animals, making species extinct through needless killing! An example of this, is the Dodo, all killed by sailors who wanted to eat them. Do we have the right to kill an entire species when ours isnt even under threat from them?
Much of the meat, produced in the world is never eaten and rots, yet millions are starving world-wide as there is not enough food. Think, my friends if all farmland was used for crops, how much MORE food there would be. We are condemning innocent people to death, and more innocent animals to death without even a morally correct reason or even out of necessity.
Do we have the right to play as God? Choosing who shall live? Killing some and leaving others to die? Do not those millions of humans and animals have the right to live also? We are being selfish. Is it morally correct to kill without reason, not even to save another life? Is it moral to condemn millions to painful lives of starvation and suffering needlessly?
I say to you my friends, that we end this. I say free those whom we imprison lest we imprison ourselves by doing so. Break the bonds of their captivity. Our race has taken so much out of this world, is it not time we made amends by putting some back. We will never completely heal those wounds we have savagely and ungratefully dealt to our planet, but let us try to correct our past mistakes by choosing the correct path today!
Forget not my friends we do not do this for ourselves. We who selfishly live in comparative luxury provided by the suffering of others. We do this for those animals whom we have condemned to suffer in captivity. We do this for those who starve so that they might also have a chance to live. We do this for those yet unborn, who need not be born into a world with suffering and starvation, who need not understand even the basic concept of these two words, so much in evidence today. We do this to make the world a better place, one in which all want to live. This will not accomplish a perfect world when finished, yet this will bring us one step closer to our goal. This will not be finished in one hundred days, nor will it be finished in one thousand days, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this world which we have scarred, but let us begin.
What we do may not be remembered by future generations, it is what we dont do that will. Remember this my friends, we do not seek glory in this task, we selflessly seek to provide our descendants a better world.
