OK, I've wanted to list all the books that I have read for a long time so that I can keep a track as I often find myself remembering stories from books when I can't remember the actual book. I will also post a very short description and say if I recommend the book(s). Espírito 1.4.04
The Helliconia Trilogy : Brian Aldiss
Comprising Helliconia Spring, Helliconia Summer and Helliconia Winter this is an amazing science fantasy series, highly recommended and I've read them twice in two years :)
The Sword of Truth Series: Terry Goodkind
Comprising so far , Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, Blood of the Fold, Temple of the Wind, Soul of the Fire, Faith of the Fallen, and The Pillars of Creation. The newest book is only recently out, Naked Empire. This is a wonderfully developed romantic (derived from Romanticism) fantasy series, possibly a little simplistic in places but with profound views in others, I recommend them.
The Assassin Trilogy: Robin Hobb
Comprising Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest this is possibly the best series I have read ever. Maybe her others come close. If you haven't read them, I strongly advise you to do so.
The Liveship Traders: Robin Hobb
Comprising Ship of Magic, The Mad Ship and Ship of Destiny is a trilogy set on the same world but taking place elsewhere, soon after the events of the first series, although not as compelling as the Assassins Trilogy the series still competes with those of other writers of this genre favourably.
The Tawny Man Trilogy: Robin Hobb
Comprising Fool's Errand, Golden Fool and Fool's Fate continues stories from both the previous series, apparently the last series set on this world.
The Empire Series: Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts
Comprising Daughter of the Empire, Servant of the Empire and Mistress of the Empire is a trilogy set on a world where honour is held in high esteem. Mara, a young noblewoman who's father and elder brother are killed on a war in another world must ensure the survival of her house through guile and cunning and not a little luck! Well worth the read!
The Serpentwar Saga: Raymond E. Feist
Comprising Shadow of a Dark Queen, Rise of a Merchant Prince, Rage of a Demon King, and Shards of a Broken Crown,. This is a 'quadrilogy' set on the world of Midkemia as are many of his books. An adventure fantasy the characters take on a life of their own owing to the skill with which the writer portrays them. You don't want to miss these ones!
