I have worked with materials that require certain design criteria to be met to create a finished product that is stable and lightweight, yet strong.

The composite materials I have worked with include sheet molded compounds (SMC) for the Dodge Viper hood and Ford Windstar tailgate and Fiberglass reinforced ABS (occupant impactible surfaces in automoitive interiors).

Carbon Fiber parts were created for Swift Racing for Michael Andretti's CART (Indy) race car. Quick design and fabrication were required to create new and improved panels for this week's race that replaced parts that failed in the previous week's race. Airfoils, brake cooling ducts, made FAST!
