~ PASSAGE 152 ~
WYRM FIGURINES

4 PM: With this spoken deal between the fellowship and the kobold regiment acknowledged, the team followed Pomeer back to his favorite place - the dragonkeeper room. When the kobold passed by his little bench on the way to the twisted cage, it let out a sharp, agitated screech and jumped up and down in a feral state. Teflar and Vrai spun around quickly on the defensive figuring an ambush trap was underway.
Not until Gailwind spoke did the team stand there in utter confusion.
" His toys have been stolen."

Aramil was no mood to deal with the irritating guide. He spoke through gritted teeth " What in Hades does that mean? What toys?" The last word barely made it past his pressed lips.

Nanith seemed nervous and looked to Gailwind " Is it really that important?"

The sage did his utmost to conversate with the beast while it whined incessantly and crawled beneath the bench. " It says that he was careless to let his treasures out of his sight. He wants to report this to the queen."

Roslyn stood stamping her foot impatiently. She went over and roughly yanked the humanoid to its feet. " Gailwind, tell this thing to get a hold of itself. We can't have it going nuts every few minutes, especially if we are going to sneak up on anything!"

The beast fussed some more; it ran over to the firepit and started digging maniacally into the soot.
The sage was distracted by Ninnipin's private whispers and stood there in reserved patience.
They watched as ashes were scraped aside and something was pulled out of the dirt by Pomeer. This handsize object was then polished away cleanly like a squirrel obsessing over a recovered summer nut.
" This thing is crazy! " blasted the dwarf " We cannot trust it to lead us into a den of goblins!" He spun around as if giving up his part in the venture.
" That is ludicrous. I bet that female kobold thought he was expendable. I bet it's all just a trap!"

Gailwind, with a frown, finished listening to the rogue and then watched as a smiling Pomeer showed everyone the object he had recovered; a jade figurine of a dragon.

Nanith smiled awkwardly at the fretting kobold. " Calm down, calm down. Here you go." he said reluctantly and dumped four jade dragon figurines into Pomeer's lap. " Can we go now?" he redirected with mock politeness. His small hand partially extended to pat the creature on the head, but he thought better after seeing the creature spin in the soot franticly and let out piercing screams of joy.

" Thief!" riled Oktavianus in anger " You mean you were holding out on us this whole time! " he got in front of the hobbit blocking his view of the kobold burying his treasures. " What else have you taken that we should be worried about!"

Nanith lifted his arms in defense " Hey, whats done is done. Can we move on now... please?

Staring at the small, green figurines, an idea came to Aramil " Just for curiosities sake, shouldn't we know what color this dragon is that we are going after? Really, a gold wyrm is vastly different from a blue or a red. And if that figure is any hint, we may be chasing a green." The mage looked to the others for confirmation " Gailwind, can you ask him the color of the dragon?"

Gailwind stepped over and traded short words with the beast as the others stood around in somber silence. " It says that his pet has no color."

The druidess look confused " Anybody have any idea what he meant by 'no color'? I'm guessing either a white or black; both evil, vile things. Do you prefer freezing or acid?" she smiled weakly.
Nodding, Aramil supposed more " That is so, but then colorless could also mean silver which could be to our benefit. Gailwind..." redirected Aramil after a moment's pause "... perhaps we could show him a scrap of colored cloth and a silver coin to get specifics. I don't mean to belabor the matter, but if I know what we will face, then I may be able to choose magics that will serve us better."

The beast got up from his knees and hopped on the pit packing firm the soot with his feet.

Vrai coughed among the swirling ashes " Enough! Let him lead us now. We have spent far too long entertaining him. Just acknowledge that this dragon is evil and we'll all be prepared for it."

The satisfied kobold seemed not to hold a grudge against the group and forgot about the matter almost immediately; its dogface grin expressed exuberance. But it seemed reluctant now to leave the area until Teflar snapped the leash alerting Pomeer to the predicament at hand. " Let's go, we have monsters to slay and a wyrmling to rescue. Yes, a big evening ahead of us."
