10 AM: The party, after first making sure that it was clear from danger, filed back into the main towershell. Nanith seemed frustrated over his inability to unlock the dragon relief door and vowed to not let them down again. He led them carefully through the upper western door down a narrow 15' wide hallway. 25' into the cracked corridor, three doors came into view: two sided them on either wall and the far door extended a further 15' out in front. The northern and western doors were cut from the same wood and hewn quite normally. The southern door was made from stone with a dragonfish relief shown swimming in an aquatic setting.
Nanith studied all three doors individually while the party waited for his review in mid-hall. He gave the dragonfish relief a questioning glower.
" Looks like we cant seem to get away from the dragons. Lets try one of the other doors for now. I suspect..." he added, pointing with his shortsword " ...that this one is going to provide some resistance."
The party deferred to the rogue's expertise and watched while the nimblefingered thief examined the northern door. Finding it untrapped and unlocked, the fellowship then followed Nanith as he entered.
The next room, a 10'x10' ruined chamber, stood empty save a litter of rocky debris. Oktavianus kicked about a few stones and announced that they had come upon a useless room. Nevertheless, the team examined all bits of detail until they themselves agreed with the cleric; nothing special was to be discovered here.
Nanith then went on to the western door. After a couple minutes, he declared with a quizzical frown. " Not a single trap to be found. Its unlocked as well." He placed his head against the door listening with a determination. Aramil pondered the southern door a bit wondering if these reliefs held the rooms' magically shut. When all seemed safe enough, the dwarf opened the western door leading the team through in file.
Crudely executed symbols and glyphs scribed in green dye decorated the large and irregularly-shaped, crumbling chamber. A large pit in the room's center showed evidence of a recent bonfire. An empty metallic cage in the center of the southern wall contained a gaping hole. A small wooden bench draped with green cloth stood before the cage and upon it sat several large objects, including a bedroll lying nearby. The sound of whimpering was plainly audible.
Teflar raised his swords and scanned the dimly-lit room.
" We are not alone."
Vrai stepped alongside and nodded.
" Of course not...we never were." He pulled his bow taut and aimed it at the bedroll. " There lies our next tribulation."
Nanith tugged Vrais tunic lightly " Lets not be too hasty in killing everything that moves." Roslyn stepped out ahead and offered " Let me investigate first. If you need to shoot, I am small enough to get around."
Vrai smircked " Yeah, sure kid....sure." With noone to stop her except Nanith's puzzled gaze, she crept close enough to see that whatever was in the bedroll was shaking slowly. She leaned in off to the left side and spoke softly " Are you okay?" Nothing happened; the shaking and whimpering continued.
She looked up at the group as if unsure how far she should go. Vrai held his bow taunt making sure no sudden movements attacked the druidess.
" Hey!" she then said a little louder.
A thing then burst up from the strange bundle and yelled at the top of its' lungs something inane and insensible!
