MYCRAN 10 ~ Noon:
Aramil and Teflar were brought to military headquarters in the southern district of Pinedroi and fed a meal to revive them enough to continue the line of interrogations thrown at them. They were now in a comfortable atmosphere where an untold tandem of officials in the housing spoke of war and the tactics required to undergo 'Operation Beastbastion'. Plans were drawn up and studied by rankings of all sort.
They were introduced to a man named Loten Marks; a paladin of Pinedroi inspired to help the band of StarPoint Raven as they sought to glue what parts of their membership they could still find. It was assured them that the city was being combed for anyone resembling the traits of the Raven characters described.
Aramil and Teflar sat in front of a few nobles as they took tea in a parlor. Warmarshall Kalavant smiled at them and asked a final time " You have had your requested parlay and it is now time to tell us of this starpoint you seek. Explain its' worth and potential power." Numerous dukes bent their ears in the direction of the two while they considered their answers. Aramil looked at the prominent leader as he stood poised before him.
Loten Marks sat alongside the pair in a comfortable chair and listened with interest to the defensive statement.
Kalavant was flanked by two other warmarshalls in charge of the vicinity when they heard mild protests spoken by the Raven pair. Warmarshall Ihlenco pointed strongly to them " You are only here to provide us information. Do not think you were to partake in this battle for it has already been drawn up. If you wish to further your mission by accompanying them, by all means cooperate or your time here is done." He signaled for six guards to come forth and spoke to the lead sergeant.
Aramil was stunned by the direct threat of imprisonment from this new official and fell into a brooding silent. Teflar, realizing they were at their wit's end, told all he had learned of the Amethyst Star from his night at the wintry council.
The warmarshalls nodded and absorbed the relation with interested faces.
By the end, when the ranger exhausted himself, Loten rose from his chair.
The warmarshalls had much respect for the paladin and they nodded at his confirmation.
" Sir Marks, if they are true as you say, you will have no trouble when we ask that you help them find this cold trail. I trust your nature and will see to it that you complete your divine mission." Warmarshall Kalavant reached for a cup of tea as a platter passed before him. He looked at the Raven pair distinctly
There was a reception for Teflar & Aramil as if they had already committed to the battle. In all intents, they had, but there was still reservations on what purpose they served the warmarshalls at this point.
" Warmarshall Kalavant, I am not a lorist, a scholar, nor one to profess that I know all of our historic past. However, I see no reason why I should talk about the shards. That is not why we are gathered here this afternoon. We plan this attack on the orcs and were asked to find the starpoint and that is what we are trying to do."
Teflar smiled sardonically at his teammate, but spoke in his behalf
" I would have to agree with the mage. As to the shards, the only thing I know about them
are the legends that you have heard yourselves. Let us get one thing
straight here; what is more important to you right now...the story
telling of old legends or the eradication of orcs on your front
step?"
" These two wish to head back to their cells for trial." He turned to them a final time. " Unless, of course, you have something interesting to reveal?"
" Pardon my ignorance, but I doubt these two could have committed any grievous crime in Pinedroi. If they had, Heironeous would not have sent me to help them in retrieving the shard. My God of Justice would not have me aid criminals; so I am sure there must be some misunderstanding."
" You will be reunited with your other companions in a few nights." He smiled with an inward jest " I hope Bethlun knows what they're doing."
