~ PASSAGE 78 ~
A DIRTY STAND

Teflar swung around to the rear of the monk's foe and stuck his longsword through its' back before running over to aid Aramil in his battle. Torynth, with relief, praised his God and asked for protection against the next wave of orcs.

Aramil, again, lashed his staff out at the orc banging it in the stomach. The adjoining orc decided to help out its' partner and clobbered Aramil to the earth before the ranger could slog through the mud to reach him. " I will kill you Teflar when we are done! " screamed the mage in irritation. " Let us move out quickly!"

Leah stood up slowly placing her tooth in a small pocket. " You bastards! Follow me into the woods!!!" She then waved and hobbled off to the northside trees, but only managed to entice one such monster to chase after.

Before the injured orc could deal a deathblow to the severely injured magician, Teflar cut open the back of its' head with a swipe of his trusty blade.

Teflar spun around " Aramil, you still got your potion?"
The wizard fumbled in his cloak and withdrew the appointed vial. His chest slowly rose and fell with every breath and a harsh rasp escaped his lips as he poured half the contents into his mouth. Teflar fended off the lone orc when it tried fighting its' way past the ranger to get to the mage. The woodsman sliced at the beast's forearms keeping it at bay. Aramil stood awkwardly trying to balance himself in the equilibrium of mud.

The five orcs raced towards the monk with hammers poised to strike. Torynth propelled himself ahead, arms straight and fists clenched, into the orc directly in front of him. He bellowed an exultant cry " Bai-Hu!!" and stunned the beast with a punch to the throat. The monster staggered backwards dropping its' weapon. The martial artist sidekicked another orc to his left sending it flying into the air.
WHAMM! A solid bludgeon landed in the middle of Torynth's back and he toppled over into the roiled pools of sludge. He now fought three as the other evil pair raced at Teflar and Aramil.

Leah's blue eyes widened from behind a mask of matted brown hair and blood across her chin. With a fearful quaver, she yelled " We can't stand and fight. The quest will be done with us dead! To the woods! It is our only chance!" The druidess then raced into the forest and disappeared from view with the orc hot on her trail.

Aramil balanced himself from the sudden dizziness he felt and then trudged forward to face the orc running past the monk to meet him. He raised his quarterstaff with a firm grip and met the charging orc with a downward arc. The blow was deflected by the orc's hammer, but the mage quickly counterstuck cracking his staff across the orc's body. "Teflar," called the wizard with renewed vigor " Shall we finish this dance soon before you have to drag our bodies away!?" The ranger remained silent and unconcerned as he seemed to playfully bat away both of his foe's wild swings without returning a deadly counterstroke.
Torynth thrashed in the mud keeping his attackers at bay with the snaps of his dangerous feet. With Leah dashing into the forest, the horses snorted in terror, but held steadfast in a knot awaiting the battle's finality. The quad of heroes held their own with every trick in the book, but another wave of tyrants came at them. The fourth in as many minutes!
