| OFFICIAL STATEMENT MADE BY HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS JOSE IZZAGUERRA CONGRATULATING THE INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL FEDERATION "FIFA" FOR WORLD CUP 2002 IN JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA |
| The Government of Eslo would like to take this opportunity to thank FIFA for organizing the World Cup in 2002. The event will surely live up to its international reputation as a tournament in which political and economic differences are put aside for the love of playing soccer. The past years have seen an increasing number of positive reforms in FIFA and Eslo applauds them highly. We hope that their effects will lead to a further development and enrichment of the game. Also, the Government of Eslo pronounces that Brazil is our favorite team for the gold, with Germany and Mexico leading shortly after. All Eslonian citizens are invited to view at least one full game of the world cup in a spirit of true global citizenship and comradery.
