FROM THE OFFICE OF HRM JOSE IZZAGUERRA
PRESS RELEASE MADE BY HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS JOSE IZZAGUERRA FOR THE CONCLUSION OF THE 2002 MICRONATIONAL ECONOMIC SUMMIT
OFFICIAL STATEMENT The issue of micronational economy has been important for several years. However, the micronational community saw, for the first time, a decisive effort to put some order into how the microeconomical system should work. As a nation that is seen as a leader among nations, Eslo was present at the summit, taking an active listening and observance posture in all discussions. The Secretary of Commerce, Martin Amos, and Ambassador of Eslo George Stamps were present at the conference, reporting on the opinions of the rest of the micronational governments. A delegate at the conoference mentioned,"It has been a remarkable experience for the micronational community and has seen people of many nationalities come together in a non-political environment. It is the first time that a major micronational issue has been properly debated in public." The Government of Eslo concurs with the statement and is pleased at the outcome of the conference. Eslo is yet to decide whether or not to participate in the Intermicronational Currency Exchange Organisation. However, the Royal Palace will motion for discussion of this topic in August of this year. The ICEO is seen as something with great potential, although it is difficult to claim the equality that nations deserve. The Government of Eslo remains confident that the ICEO, should it come into exsistence, will serve all micronations fairly. If Eslo goes into the organization, it is clear to the Royal Executive Power that Eslo will continue to excersise its mandate. Supporting Free Trade, but also supporting social reforms and betterment is a large part of Eslo's economic and social policies. We are pleased that the way of free enterprise has prevailed at the conference, as Eslo is convinced that the advantages of such a system are plentiful. The Government of Eslo will continue to take part in economic discussions and takes this opporuntunity to officially recognize the oganizers of the event for a valuable contribution to the economic system.
