FROM THE OFFICE OF HRM JOSE IZZAGUERRA
OFFICIAL STATEMENT MADE BY HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS JOSE IZZAGUERRA ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONDEMNATION OF THE RPUBLIC OF CUBA AND FIDEL CASTRO, AND THE CANCELLATION OF PLANS TO OPEN AN EMBASSY IN HAVANA
OFFICIAL STATEMENT The government of Eslo formally condemns the Government of the Republic of Cuba and its dictator Fidel Castro. In accordance to a resolution passed the third Friday of April at the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva, Eslo recognizes that there is an abundance of work to be done in the field of human rights in that country. The Cuban government, through its autocratic regime, systematically represses the human rights of Cubans and visitors alike. In the wake of a third Eslonian visitor to Cuba reporting human rights abuses to their person, I formally break off any diplomatic relation that ever exsisted with the island's organizations, government, or inhabitants. Fidel Castro has offended the international community greatly in the past weeks by losing allsense of political correctness. Eslo protests the actions of President Castro when he published a recording of a secret conversation between him and President Vicente Fox of Mexico. Eslo vehemently rejects the lack of prefessionalism and confidentiality shown by Fidel Castro in publisizing a conversation which was to remain secret by verbal agreement. The Republic of Eslo seconds the actions taken by Uruguay against Cuba in the diplomatic field. In the global village, all nations must come together to denounce human rights abuses. The lack of freedom and democracy in Cuba has led to the betrayal of its people, and Eslo will no longer tolerate it. The government of Cuba has acted in ways that jeopardize any future dialogue. Eslo has planned to open an Embassy in Cuba in order to establish a geater link with the people. However, the represssive regime of Castro has made it impossible. Banning the personal ownership of computers is unacceptable to all liberties known to our country. We cannot hope to establish a dialogue in a country were speaking of politics is strctly prohibited. A relationship with Cuba will not take place until Castro is out of power on the island.
