I taught in Germany 1986-1990 at the Bergische University in Wuppertal and at a local Volkshochschule, a continuing adult education center, part-time. Prior to this in 1984 I worked on a farm and stayed with a Mennonite family in

From 1983 though 1984 I worked on a farm and lived with the Mennonite owners in the Alsace region of France which borders Switzerland and is the point where the Vogue and Jura mountains meet.

I was born in a little town named Sycamore, Illinois but have considered the state of Kansas my home since I was 13 years old.
I taught both German and Spanish in two high schools in Kansas and coordinated exchange and trip abroad programs there as well.
Most recently I have taught in California and Texas in intensive English language programs for foreign students wishing to study in the U.S. I currently teach at the
IELI
at Midwestern State university in Wichita Falls, Texas.

I've worked in Japan twice. I taught in three Japanese high schools in and near Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture from 1992 to 1994.
In 1996 I returned to Japan and tried to open a revolutionary new serious intensive English language program in Sapporo in Hokkaido far to the north.
