Dear Students,
The goal of City
University is to make education as affordable and accessible
as possible. For your convenience, I have opened a Web-Office, a virtual
office open for you literally all the time, rain or shine.
You forgot to write down the
schedule; or just cannot find that tiny piece of paper you wrote it on? Don't worry. About
one week before the beginning of the semester, the schedule will be posted here, in the
web-office, and you can check or even print it out any time you want. Section Schedule.
Couldn't make it to the very
first class and missed a copy of your syllabus; or spilled your favorite
Cappuccino during breakfast on the copy of the syllabus you got? Just drop by the
web-office, click on the subject you need the syllabus for, and get a new one!
Are you going to miss the
next three classes? Want to know what material you will miss? A day-by-day lesson plan can
be found at the end of each syllabus.
Exercises in the textbook
are not enough? Want to get your exercises checked as well? Want it fast? The answer is
just a click away, at Take a Quiz.
Are you shy to ask a
question during the classes or, perhaps, you just forgot to ask me, or there was not
enough time? No problem, you can e-mail me your question and I will be more than
happy to answer it.

Want to read what other
students write about? How about sharing your experience with us? You can do both if you
wish. The Student Corner is just the place for it!
Why and who teaches at City
University in Bratislava? Students tried to find it out in their projects. Visit Student
Projects.
- Want to see a picture of other students, see
if you recognize anyone? A collection of all the students I have taught at City University
can be viewed at the Photos section.
- How are you doing in your classes? Great?
How great? What exactly is your score? Look in the Grades section. You can't pick
out your friend's grades unless you know his Student ID number, but, hey, nobody will know
if you fail either!
- Who is this Helen Philpott, anyway? Well,
you will find out soon enough. See the About Helen section.
- Above all, as the visitor of this office and
the student, you are my most important critic and commentator. I value your opinion and
want to know what I am doing right, what I could do better, what areas you would like to
see me add, and any other words of wisdom you are willing to pass my way.
- As your instructor, I welcome your comments.
You can e-mail me or or tell me personally what you did or did not like about this
web-office. My e-mail is [email protected]
