| I've been in love with music ever since I can remember. Yet if I were to put a date on my serious engagement with pop-music, it would have to be 1964. On the last day of our exams, my classmates and I decided to celebrate the end of the academic year by watching Elvis Presley's Viva Las Vegas, which was showing at Cinema Metro, just behind home. Elvis's voice literally sent chills down my spinal-cord. I had never seen or heard anything like that before. The score included songs like "What I'd Say", "Com'on Everybody" and the title tune. Within two weeks I had seen the film at least four times. As a reward for my coming first in school (Senior One it was), my Mother bought me my first record player.
