Project Profile:

The newspaper project is an activity in which students will learn how to create a easy to read English newspaper for Spanish speaking students.  Students will use different web sites to access the latest news from their country and add them to the local newspaper. Students will collaborate with other students around the world.


Collaborating around the world to share news and information.
Classroom Management:
There is one computer in the classroom. Internet access is available in the library allowing additional computer access.

Instructional Strategy:
Implement the project using cooperative groups with "Jigsaw" classroom approach.
Learning Objectives:

Upon the completion of this project, students will be able to:

1. Access web sites related to their culture and write short articles.

2. Learn writing skills through collaboration on the Internet.

3. Write articles, letters, and columns using information they have researched about their country for their online
newspapers.
