ABOUT ESKRIMA

Eskrima is a martial art that originated in the Philippines and is steeped in actual combat usage throughout its history. It is also one of the few arts that still is used, in one degree or another, in actual combat today. It is taught all over the world and many military special forces teams use these techniques in their training.

Eskrima covers all fighting ranges, allowing a person to defend against armed and unarmed attacks with whatever is available, but most training emphasize weapons proficiency and the ability for a person to learn to attack and defend themselves with the Eskrima - Kali - Garote or stick.
Eskrima provides an excellent conditioning regimen for adults as well as children, with the added benefit of learning self-defense.

The World Eskrido Federation, students are taught the Eskrido System of Eskrima, which encompasses more than one style of Eskrima. The systems taught at our school are Double stick training, Single stick training, and Combat Judo (knife training).

This incredible weapons system is a multi-faceted system and it teaches a person speed and fast reflexes plus adds training for everyday life allowing a person to defend themselves against armed attackers.

 

ESKRIMA CONCEPT

     Eskrima is a term for the indigenous martial Arts of the Philippines. Eskrima is also known by the names of Escrima, Kali, Arnis, Garote or Garote de Mano. Tapi-Tapi The Filipino Martial Arts have evolved in volatile warlike climates for over 500 years. It is only now that Eskrima is becoming popular in the UK, KSA and the USA having largely remained undiscovered for all this time. Grandmaster Gerardo Alcuizar of Eskrido Do has it's foundation syllabus rooted in English, Filipino Eskrima! The Military, Police are among the many special forces units around the world that regard Eskrima as the most effective Martial Art there is and train extensively with it.

     Eskrima, unlike most arts, trains it's students to defend against weapons such as knives and sticks as would be used in real-life situations which are becoming more and more relevant in today's society. Techniques include disarming, locking, bone breaking, limb destruction, high and low-line kicking, throwing and stick grappling. The art of Eskrima develops a wide range of skills and attributes at all fighting ranges. These include speed, accuracy, timing, footwork, co-ordination, reaction speed and the ability to flow with any attack.

Why Train?
   Because you cannot hope to be able to successfully defend yourself against an assault unless you are trained and trained well that's why!

Decision!
   The decision to actually do something to actually start a training program, is of course a decision that must be made by you and only you, no one can make it for you. You must choose and you must choose now. You cannot wait until you are attacked to make that choice...it's too late then.

   Unfortunately, there is no "outside agency" that will intervene and save you if you are physically attacked.  There is only you and you must be the instrument of your own defense
