Louis XVI was born in 1754 at the palaces of Versailles, son of Louis XV.
In 1765 he became king after his father passed away,but he was too young
therefore didn't rule France until 1774 when he came of age. In 1770 he
married Marie-Antoinette, the daughter of the King of Austria, Francis
I.After Louis XVI's hydrocele was
corrected,
Marie-Antoinette and Louis had a couple of children.
In 1792,the National Assembly ended the monarch,and set up the First French
Revolution Republic to ruleFrance. Louis XVI tried to escape.But the National
Assembly caught him,and put him in prison.Austria and Prussia wanted to
help Louis XVI.At this time ,radical leaders got power.They executed Louis
XVI in January 1793 on the guillotine.
