It is said that 3 of Elizabeth's children were by her father, Jesse. I find
this very hard to believe. Although possible, this close blood relation would
surely have produced extreme mental imparity and physical deformity.
When Elizabeth's sister, Martha, died she took her two daughters, Dicie and
Irena, and raised them. Dicie and Irena were raised by the name of Hale.
