Richard Bailey was the Trader in the Creek Indian town of Ottissee (Auttossee). In
the year 1796, he had an industrious farm with fenced land to keep his stock. His
wife of the Wind Clan, was economical, careful with the family concerns, and very
cleanly. At this time Mr. Bailey only had five children. The two daughters were
married to white men, and the youngest, Elizabeth Fletcher, could read and write.
Her husband was Josiah Fletcher. Every morning, winter or summer, they all bathed in
cold water. Mr. Bailey kept Rum and Tobacco in his house, but did not smoke, and
only took one or two glasses of Rum per day. He was a native of England, and in 1796
had been in the Nation for 40 years. His sons Dixon, James, and Daniel, were the
officers stationed at Fort Mims during the massacre.

I am a descendant of George W. Sizemore and his wife, Ann M. Ellison. George
Sizemore was not married to Elizabeth Harris. Elizabeth Harris was married to
his Uncle Joseph Sizemore. Josephine Sizemore was the daughter of Joseph
Sizemore and Elizabeth Harris. You will find them the 1850 Census for Monroe
County, AL living next to Susannah Sizemore, and her son, George W. Sizemore.
I know that Josephine lists George Sizemore as her father on the Indian
Application, but I believe it is because her father died when she was a small
child, and she did not remember him. Probably George served as her link to the
Sizemore family. Josephine is also listed as Joseph Sizemore's daughter in
Arthur Sizemore's Will.
