What is Disc Golf?
Now this isn't going to be an official definition written by the best and most knowledgable in the sport.  This is from a person who has watched hours upon hours of the sport, played a little bit.  So consider perception...and if you have a better description of this somewhere...please feel free to submit and I'll post it. (I don't want to copy it from someone without permission here!)  So that being said, my definition of disc golf:

Disc golf is like ball golf except instead of using clubs, you use discs (small frisbees for lack of a better description).  There are no holes, there are these crazy things called baskets.  So you are throwing these frisbees at a basket.  The object is to get the disc in the basket in the least amount of throws.  (Just like ball golf to hit the little ball the least amount of times to the hole)

There are drivers and mid-range discs as well as putters. (just crazy!)  Now I'm not sure exactly here, but the difference in these discs has to do with the shape of the lip on the underside of the disc. A driver goes further than a mid-range which goes further than a putter (in theory of course!)  I mean you wouldn't tee off in ball golf with a putter now would you? (again, in theory)

There are usually anywhere from 9-18 holes ranging anywhere from around 150 ft from tee to basket to over 400 ft.  In some parts of the world the courses are located where there are lots of trees.  In others it's just wide open space.

I'm not going to attempt to get technical and will save all the really gooey details for the pros.  So this will be updated soon.
