The Science Article Review/ Science And Reality

(SAR)

DUE EVERY FRIDAY (or the last day of the school week!)

You are to write a summary of a science article from a magazine, newspaper, the internet, .T\’ newscast, TV show, a movie, a hook, your hobby, or a personal experience where you experienced science in your life.

The article should have 3 paragraphs.

The first paragraph tell me where 1 can find the article.

Examples:

• Name of the newspaper or magazine, page number, date of publication, and author.

• Name of Broadcaster (CBS, CNN, TDC, etc.), date and time of broadcast, and name of program.

• Name of movie, name of director or producer, and name of studio (Universal. Trimark, MGM, etc.)

• The complete URL of the website. Note: The AOL Keyword is NOT enough.

• Name of the hook, publisher, date of publication, and author.

• In the case of a real life experience, where and when you had the experience.

The second paragraph should he a summary of the article. Tell what the article is about. If the article is a movie, book, or Sci-Fi TV show, tell me about the story and some of the science they are using and/or some of the science they are ignoring, if it is Science And Reality, tell me about how you experienced one of the scientific principles we have studied in class.

In the third paragraph tell why the article was interesting (or not interesting) to you. If you wish, you may include a copy of the article, but that is not needed.

Extra Credit

If you wanted to seek more information on this topic, give me a SPECIFIC source for more information. This more information can not be the same URL given as the source. Also note, suggestions like: “Go to the library”, “Get a hook”. “Go to Blockbuster”, or “Search the net” are not SPECIFIC sources.
