What can I say about November other than YECCHH! Shorter days call for more careful flight planning and warmer flight clothes.
All is not lost though; the air is crisp and clear making takeoff’s
rocket like and PAUL YOUNG is hosting our Nov 12th. meeting at his BLUEBIRD AIRPARK. Come
hungry as he will be cooking some of his special fare albeit not on the scale of the July
extravaganza. Members and their guests can drift in from
BLUEBIRD AIRPARK is located at 37� 48.073’N 075�39.496’W, 1100 ft with clear approach. From East, 25’ elect. Wires 200 ft’ Fr. West threshold. Two chicken houses parallel to runway are easy to spot from a distance.

The meeting agenda will include discussion of EAA’s insurance requirements and the apparent ignoring of Ultralight groups. Nominations for 2006 officers will be accepted. From your suggestions, I will make a ballot list for candidates, which will be posted before the January meeting. (NOTE no meeting in December.) Feel free to e-mail or mail your suggestions to add to list. Active involvement is the lifeblood of our group. Without your suggestions and participation “Rays Raiders” will stagnate. “Lets ALL keep it a great club”.

We have four new members who signed up at Gordon’s Fly-In. Come out and give a big welcome to Paul Burns, Jack Levering, Joe Paschall, and Paul Spadin. They have been included in the new member list.
Gordon Campbell’s Fly-In Oct 15-16 was a great success despite the 20kt. Winds. Over 25 planes came in Sat and five + landed Sun for the pancake breakfast.
Gordon hosted a Sat night bonfire and marshmallow roast, which was great fun thanks to, diminished winds. There were six campers on the field.

Dawn Jacobus decorated the field with her wonderful whimsical banners and streamers, which attracted much attention. Youngsters and oldsters alike enjoyed the Kite flying demonstrations. Many people tried their luck at Gordon’s ring hook game (a game growing in popularity, on par with darts in pubs.)
Jim Rank earned adulation from the kids for his Sno-Cone machine, which kept him busy for a good part of the day.
George Parker came in with his Siai Marchetti and left spectacularly.
Ran Northam did exemplary duty on his terrain vehicle, shepherding the planes to parking spaces.
Gordon wishes to thank all of the folks who helped in the set up and operation of the event. Jim Rank for his loan of tents, tables and kitchen equipment, Dawn Jacobus for her banners and help throughout the day, John Dougherty, Ozzie Hilderson, Joe Paschall, Jim Rank for helping setup and breakdown and all others whom I might have forgotten. (Blame my senility) OH YEAH his lovely wife Chris who tirelessly worked in the background taking care of details which, without her, would probably not get done. Also all the ladies who provided the wonderful dishes. “KUDOS to ALL”
