February 2006 By now you have pretty much forgotten what you did for flying fun last season and havent really thought about the upcoming year. Think harder for we want to know if you have any suggestions for 2006 activities and meetings? If you have any great ideas please let one of us officers know so we can prepare a schedule for the year. Cate Fairchild of the Delmarva Aviation Association will be teaming up with Dave Lumgair and as many of our members as possible to host a Young Eagles Day this Spring. It will be held April 29th at SBY. (raindate, April30) Volunteers are needed and will be most appreciated. Think of how great it would have been to have had such an opportunity when you were a youngster. I know I certainly would have become a pilot much earlier if such a program was available. I contented myself with model airplanes not having any pilot relatives to mooch rides. You can help in many ways. Registration, refreshments, static displays of various aircraft, crowd control, informative talks, and last but not least giving rides if your plane is qualified. With both groups hard work we can make the day a memorable one for the kids and our organizations. Ron Levy of D.A.A. can be e-mailed to accept your help at [email protected] There will be a planning meeting at Salisbury Airport Sat Feb. 18th . Our february meeting will be held at The Sunrise Diner , Four Corners Plaza, Rt 13 Onley Sat Feb 11th at 1300 (1:pm) For those wishing to fly-in we will have people at Melfa (MFV) to give you a lift. The results from our officer elections at the January meeting, placed all current officers in their same position again this year.
