Introduction:

Welcome to the Núria Alsina Masriera web. I was born in Barcelona in 1951 and hold a degree in arts and crafts from the Massana Art and Design School of Barcelona. I also attended different courses in drawing, pottery and papier-mâché.

In my works I mostly use refractory clay cooked at high temperatures (1280º), sometimes combining it with iron, glass, stone or recycled materials.

A significant part of my work focuses on the world of children, their facial expressions, spontaneity and innocence, that is, their wisdom.

Anhoter important focus are women, their feelings and the different shapes of their body throughout life, from adolescence to maturity, with pregnancy and motherhood in between.

In summary, I try to understand and express the world that surrounds me at any given moment of my life.
