Celtic Christianity is a faith that evoloved in Scottland & Ireland during the ninth through twelvth centuries. Celtic Christianity evolved as a mixture between between Latin Christianity and Celtic druidism.
The answers that I needed were found in Celtic Christianity. Growing up I had two huge influences on my faith. My parents attended the Methodist church. My grandmother was a Cherokee who still worshiped the Great Spirit and the Cherokee patheons. I felt that I could never find a happy medium between the two. I saw a celtic cross at a medevial fair and bought it. Inside was a pamplet explaining what the celtic cross represented and what celtic christianity was about. I had found my answers.

The celtic cross is a cross with a circle around it, usually with Celtic knotwark in the braches of the cross. The circle represents the circles and cyles of nature, life and death. Celtic Christianity celebrates God's goodness in all life and in nature. The four arms of the celtic cross represent the four corners of the earth and the four elements; earth, air, fire and water. The center of the cross represents the fifth element, spirit. This is where Christ's heart was when he was crucified.
That being said I must now stand upon my soapbox. I am a social worker, and as a social worker, I am was trained to respect all people and their beliefs. An alarming trend in Christianity is not accpeting people of other faiths. Many Christians automatically think that a person that wears a pentagram is a Satanist. This is not necessarily so. The pagan faiths including Wiccanism, Shamanism, and Druidism are varied. A good online reference for the Wiccan faith is on a freind of mine, Wlyin's web page. He can be found at Wylins Wisdom. Review the tenents of an unknown faith and then make your descision about that faith.
Another alarming trend of Christianity is their harsh treatment of the gay population. Regarldless of what the bible says about homosexualtiy, gay people are people and should be treated as such. I personally believe that God loves you, no matter who you are, no matter what your sexual preference. I have found a church that does not discriminate against gay people that I attend. The Episcopal Chruch of the Transformation is the most non-discriminatory church that I have found in Dallas.
