How it all started...
Since High School, Jim Schroeder has always had a passion for muscle machines. It was 1992 when he was first introduced to Drag Racing from his brother in law, Adam, since then he's been hooked. Going from a 10.90 Chevrolet Camaro, then to a 7.14 Top Dragster, traveling...racing every weekend, whatever weekday, holiday, there was a race, he was there!....Then it came to a screeching hault...Our daughter... Nikolette, was born... he decided it was taking a lot of time, so he took off, sold everything, quit traveling the National circuit for 7 years. To his surprise, 8 years later...our daughter wanted to Drag Race. Nikolette begged and pleaded with her Daddy, as usual, he gave in to his little girl! "Under one circumstance" he told Nikolette, "just as long as we don't race every weekend, we can't get into this full throttle, we'll race once in a while."
Well, that didn't last long! We were only suppose to race a Jr. Dragster, all of a sudden, we have a 64 Malibu SS, raced every weekend this summer, and attended a few Jr. National Races! And have had blast!
I guess when people say "ONCE YOU DRAG RACE, YOU WILL NEVER GET IT OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM" It's True, very True! |
