Howl-by:Unknown#1

The forest is full of life at night. I listen to all the animals; some are just awakening. The moon gives off little light to those without nocturnal vision. A wolf howls even though the moon is only half full. Others howl back.They break out into song as one. I howl with them lifting my head back and howling my heart out. I have to stop for breath but they continue; as if urging me on. I smile and sing with them it seems forever till we stop. I run even though they are miles away. I seem to fly; my feet never touching the ground. Faster I go, not caring were I�m headed. They howl in short yelps cheering me on. I push myself to fly faster. I come to a clearing. There they await; they grin at me. I smile back. They take off running swifter than I could ever run, yet I keep up with them. The animals around us watch in amazement longing to join us but fear the wolves. I trusted them keeping up the best I can. Right before I am ready to collapse they stop at a cliff's edge and there I sit with them howling at the sun greeting the new day. Slowly they glided back into the forest undetected; It is time for me to head back. I walk through the forest and up the dirt road on my way home.
