MIRAGE

Your voice seduces my ears, filling them with half-truths
A smile etches across your face as you play with my naivete
Oh, the joys of taking someone's heart into your hands
The temptation seems more than enough for you

But in your eyes, I am nothing but an altered reflection
A daily reminder of someone long lost and half forgotten
Your distant gaze, assailing brown eyes
Which seem to feel so much, but tell me nothing

Are you running away again? So soon?
The wall you have created seems to be blocking your way
And your ocean of excuses will only drown you after
Before you even realized what you have lost
