"Zechs would never do anything to cause me trouble."
"Tradition is a kind of history.  I think fighting in wars can indeed be beautiful.  I'd also like to express my regret over the lost souls by appealing to how priceless man's life is.  I believe what mankind needs is not absolute victory but a certain demeanor toward fighting, an attitude toward it."
His Excellency, Mr. Treize
"This machine will show its pilot the face of his enemy, and it will show him his own future.  There was no future for me..."
"For a pilot whose will to fight is pure, this machine is able to erase all uncertainty.  A soldier who is absolutely sure is sublimely beautiful.  In a sense, you can say that soldier is very near to being a god."
Remember this for the future.  A war with no civility only gives rise to massacres.  That's why past wars on Earth were so tragic."

C.A.'s Take:

Why Treize Khushrenada Is Better Than Milk

Treize Khushrenada is better than milk.  He is an aristocrat with an attitude.  That makes him damn cool.

It isn't good to drink milk before you have to sing or do public speaking.  I don't know if Treize sings, but he sure is one hell of a charismatic politician.  (Not to mention the fact that his dub voice is dead sexy, if not quite fitting the bill for the latter part of the series.)  And you tell me how many politicians are good duelers, engineers, and mobile suit pilots as well.

Treize is not an evil man.  He, too, wishes for peace.  However, he also has much faith in humanity's potential.  He believes that this potential is reached on the battlefield.  He also believes that humanity's potential and ambitions need to be kept in check. This results in a lot of fighting.  Still, Treize makes sure that no sacrifice is made in vain- he keeps track of the exact number of people who have died for him- and that war is not made into a mere game- opposing the use of the mobile dolls.  And in the end, Treize knows that for peace to come to this world, he can no longer remain there.  And I am so oversimplifying things that it is not even funny.

Hey, and believe me, intelligent, cultured gentlemen like Treize are rare nowadays.  (Though I'll admit, I do know a few fellows who, though not quite as suave as Treize, are intelligent, cultured gentlemen.)

Did the last two paragraphs have anything to do with milk?  I'll leave that up to you.

If anyone ever asked Treize Khushrenada to chug milk to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, he would probably politely refuse, saying that it was too inelegant.  Then, he would be a gentleman and offer you a ticket to actually hear Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, because he has a season subscription to the concert hall where he goes to see all of those operas.

I caught Treize!
