Location of a Landfill. While
in my Map Interpretation class my group was responsible for determining the best
possible site for a landfill. We
were responsible for the collection of the data and presenting our findings to
the class.
Siting of a Cracker Barrel. While
in my GIS class we were responsible for the evaluating of data and determining
the best possible site to build a new Cracker Barrel. We studied the area of Etowah County, AL.
After using GIS for our analysis we had to present our findings to the
class.
Location of a New Arts and Science Building. Also in my GIS class,
we had to determine a new place on campus to build a new Arts and Science
building. After studying the data we had to present our findings to the class.
Determining Travel Route Through Yellowstone National Park.
In my Advanced Digital class we were responsible for using GIS to
determine a five-day adventure through Yellowstone National Park.
We had to find and download the information ourselves and put the
information into Arcmap for further examination.
We then had to prepare a formal report and give it to our instructor.
Corridor Study. In my
Field Methods class I was assigned a team to work with to do a corridor study in
the city of Florence. We examined
the zoning, land use/land cover, economic activity, and transportation routes in
our corridor. After analyzing our
findings we had to present them to the class.
Study of Thematic Imagery. In
my Remote Sensing class we were responsible for examining a series of thematic
images. After the examination was
complete we had to provide our instructor with a formal report of our
interpretation.
Aerial Photography Notebook. In
Aerial Photography we had to examine ten aerial photographs and do an extensive
analysis of each. The analysis
included measuring distances, height of buildings, and determining different
