Improve my writing skills.

Complete 15 2-6 page essays. Five with multiple drafts. Make active use of outlines.

Try to complete as many of the writing assignments as possible. Work extensively on the ones I like.

I am not very comfortable with my writing style. It lacks distinct imagery. The revision process will show me any skills I was unaware were in need of work.

November – Complete six essays.

December – Complete ten.

January – Complete fifteen. Revisions included

Fine tune my writing skills and learn to work with new concepts.

An exhibition style long paper. Undecided topic.

Research possible topics. Mainly around my interests: Psychology, philosophy, world history.

I’d rather work with my interests while learning than something I hate.

November – Find topic.

December – Research.

January – Begin writing in preparation for second semester turn-in

Learn how to use movie-making software.

Create a single, short DVD about myself.

Collect photos, a minute and a half of video and produce a two minute DVD.

I can apply the ability to use this software outside of school. Home and work for example. Your memories, your money!

Late October – Complete.

Become a more active participant in class.

Contribute to class discussions. Log 15 whole class discussions.

Log 15 small class discussions.

Log as many class discussions as possible! Quotes/comments in particular.

The ability to listen carefully is one of the most important skills in life. Listen and ask, as my father said.

October – 3/3 logged

November – 5/5 logged

December – 7/7 logged

January 15/15 logged

Find a way to show off my work.

The webpage can be used to display my work to more than just Andy.

Explore alternative forms of narrative.
