I began at GCSU earning a computer science degree, not that I was dissatisfied with the program, or utterly bored with the course work but I felt like something was missing or wrong. So after much thought I changed my major to Music Performance and now I am singing to my heart's content. Sadly soon after the change I was informed that GCSU would no longer be offering music performance as a degree. I was given the choice to stay and be a General Music or I could leave and get the degree I wanted. I chose the latter. I want the Performance degree, and so off to Tennessee I went. Here at MTSU there is a School of Music not just a Music Department. The politics don't seem too different though. The same type of people are around here that were around GCSU. Its like changing names and a few features on the same attitudes and talent. Granted the professors are different. I like most of the staff, the program is tough but well planned so it will take time, but I will learn a lot and I have already shown a great deal of improvement. I feel lucky to be able to do this and I have to say Thank You to my friends and loved ones who have been so encouraging to me every step of the way. --2007 I graduated with a B. S. in Liberal Studies from MTSU as planned and now I'm working on a Paralegal. Why you ask? Because I will always need a trade. My voice will not last forever and I enjoyed my work at the law frim, I think I could enjoy being certified to do a little more than I was doing.
