1 Oct 2003 - So I'm still updating my pictures page...didn't realise I had so many! They will definitely be trickling in slowly, and I may not even have enough space on the site to upload all of them. But, even without all the pictures, I thought I'd make the rest of the site interesting to look at in case any one was still checking. Enjoying the company of friends and the beauty of NZ landscape and community more and more. Feeling life so intensely it hurts sometimes. I got a job working at a really cool jazz bar in town. It's pretty intense - long hours in a very unfamiliar work arena. But it's fun, too. I'm worried a bit about studies mostly because I haven't really been doing them, but there have been more important people and experiences to focus on. But, come exam time, I'll be sweet. Ever since I got back from Oz, I can't seem to get over what a great country and culture this is, especially the intimacy and the beauty of it. And my friendships are unbelievable. Scared to leave this home....

Sticky! - a sculpture made entirely of sticky tape for the Auckland Festival
Adventures of Sunday 28 Sept 2003
The skies clouded over and darkness covered the city of Auckland. As rain began to piss down and thunder blanket the city, four figures emerged from the mud, growling at innocents who scuttled for shelter, and howling at the hidden moon... The storm had brought forth the mud-mutants...and it was soooo much fun! After a warm and civilizing shower, and a quick meal, we headed to perhaps the best popular music concert I've ever been to. King Kapisi, the Black Seeds, Trinity Roots, and Salmonella Dub!!! All New Zealand artists, all one amazing set of music after the other. Wasn't too familiar with King Kapisi before the concert, but the other three were among my favorite popular music bands of all time. And all lived up to expectations. Spent the whole concert with friends literally on the edge of the stage, dancing and completely lost in the music. Time passed oddly. Amazing...
