| Students have so much to learn and accomplish during their first grade year. The state demands and expectations are high and the time is limited inside the classroom learning environment. As the teacher, I only have a little over 6 hours a day to spend teaching and tending to the needs of 20 students. In order for your first grade child to learn and be fully prepared for the second grade, you must spend time at home, reviewing and reinforcing what has been taught in the classroom as well as exploring new interests of your child. To help you help your child be a successful superstar in first grade, I have compiled a small list of websites that consist of ideas and activities you can do with your child. I encourage you to view these sites and try some of the suggestions with your child to suppliment his/her nightly homework. Many of the ideas are simply for fun and will stimulate a love of learning beyone what goes on at school. |
