Despite his success, Ernie manage to keep his feet on the ground. He stays focused because he knows that he wouldn't have attained his achievements without God's help. He also owes this to his family and friends who have help him work hard to build a strong foundaion in his life.
Ernie comes from what he describes as a perfect home. His parents are very strong Christians who have high standards and strong moral values. Though they are all now physically apart, they all remain very close and loving to each other.
Ernie has very fond of his childhood memories. Back then, he enjoyed a closely-knit relationship with his extended family in Sultan Kudarat Province, PHILIPPINES where they lived in a big compound that housed many of his cousins. He recalls having dinner together with relatives every night and it did seem like they are having a feast each day of a week. After dinner, he'd play patentiro ( line tag) or hide-and-seek with his cousins.
Since childhood, Ernie first aspired to become an engineer, a paint artist and even a computer analyst. He was only fulfill his second dream by taking ELECTRONICS but has yet experience the latter. "I may not have accomplish many of my childhood dreams... But I have definitely been blessed with more than I could have ever imagined. Not only do I have a passion for the job and love for the people I work with but also can look back on my life and can say that I've lived to the fullest and to the best of my ability."
"I also believed that God made everybody for a reason... and everyone does have a purpose in life, you just have to ask for it to be fulfilled. Your job is to make sure that you strive to do your best to reach your goals. Remember, you dont have to be the smartest person in world or to be the greatest engineer. Look at me, Im not that great engineer.. not an expert electronics at all... but the point is you still can go far."
Ernie dreames of going back to ISULAN, SULTAN KUDARAT, PHILIPPINES to live with his family, whom he misses so much. However he feels that at this point, his call is to stay in Middle East. He believes that God put him here for a reason. Nobody can tell what the future holds but Ernie says he is not fearful of what tomorrow may bring.
" IF I KNOW I'M DOING THE BEST I CAN IN THE RIGHT WAYS, THEN NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES MAYBE, I KNOW THAT I'LL BE FINE BECAUSE IT'S ALL IN HIS HANDS. GOD HAS PROMISED TO NEVER FORSAKE ME SO WHY SHOULD I BOTHER WORRYING?" |
